The time is ripe for tomato genetics

There’s no doubt humans top the evolutionary food chain. But people are, by no means, the most genetically hefty beings on Earth. Recent research from a North Carolina site of a global plant-development company revealed the tomato has at least 7,000 more genes than humans.
