Hagan-supported bill to extend middle class tax cuts passes the Senate

Senator Hagan today lauded passage of the Middle Class Tax Cut Act, legislation to extend middle class tax cuts for 3.3 million North Carolina families and 98% of American families. The tax cut amounts to an annual average savings of $1,600 per family.
“I’m pleased the Senate passed this legislation because we can’t afford to raise taxes on middle-class families that are struggling to get by,” Hagan said. “Too many North Carolinians are without jobs, and we must work together to turn our economy around. I urge the House to do the right thing and pass this bill that will benefit millions of families in North Carolina who want to know that their taxes won't increase."
