Listen up Piedmont Triad...It's time we strengthen our region.

This year the Piedmont Triad Livability Summit will focus on REGIONALISM. It's not a new concept but one we have perhaps gotten away from here in the Triad. On May 6, 2011 the Piedmont Triad kicked off, a 3-year effort lead by the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation and the Piedmont Triad Regional Council. The goal of the project is to develop a framework for creating a stronger region. Strengths and challenges within our region have been identified. From those strengths and challenges and other regional data, reasons why YOU should be concerned about our region have been crafted. For example...

Nearly 350,000 new jobs will be added to the region by 2040.But they are not the jobs of the past; they will require a much more educated workforce.

This project is about making our region a winner not just competitive!

In addition to hearing from 14 speakers, you will hear and see great stories from around the Triad, PLUS, you will be able to VOTE on a new name for the project.
