N.C.'s Sept. farm report

Peanut production at 392.2 million pounds is up 34% from last year.
Soybean production at 55.4 million bushels is up 36% from last year.
Corn for grain production at 93.6 million bushels is 37% higher than 2011.

WEATHER SUMMARY
AUGUST 2012: The state received above normal precipitation and average temperatures for most of August. Rainfall received helped improve soil moisture conditions. As of August 26, statewide soil moisture was rated at 9% short, 66% adequate, and 25% surplus.
