N.C. insurance industry seeks 17.7 percent increase in rates for homeowner’s coverage

Representatives of the North Carolina insurance industry have filed documents seeking an average increase of homeowner’s insurance rates by 17.7 percent – the increase would be even higher in the coastal and near-coastal areas such as Lenoir County.
