NCC names new officers

At a Board of Directors meeting held Wednesday, the National Chicken Council elected officers to serve one-year terms.
Bill Lovette, president and CEO of Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, will serve as 2012-2013 chairman.
Mike Brown of Vienna, Va., was elected to a second term as president of NCC.
GNP Company CEO Michael Helgeson will serve as vice chairman, andJerry Lane, president of Claxton Poultry, will serve as secretary-treasurer.
“I first want to commend immediate past chairman Lampkin Butts for his outstanding service to NCC and to the industry this past year and for his long list of accomplishments,” Brown said in a statement.
