Pecan Day planned at State Farmers Market Friday

Whether they pronounce it pee-kan or pi-kahn, fans of N.C. pecans will enjoy the annual Pecan Day celebration at the State Farmers Market. Visitors will be able to sample a pecan dessert and variety of pecans, as well as pick up free pecan recipes for upcoming holiday meals.
In addition, locally grown pecans will be available for purchase shelled or unshelled. There also will be a selection of pecan desserts, including cakes, pies and fudge, available for purchase.

Pecan Day is sponsored by the N.C. Pecan Growers Association, State Farmers Market Restaurant, State Farmers Market and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
