Rhonda Sherman’s vermiculture conference seems to get more popular each year. This year’s conference, held Nov. 5-6, attracted 120 people. Participants came from 27 states, plus Belgium, Latvia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada. Sherman, a solid waste extension specialist in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department, has offered the conference for 13 years. Vermicomposting is a process of using worms to convert organic waste.
