TThe North Carolina Forage and Grassland Council (NCFGC) in conjunction with North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be hosting a series of Mid Winter Conferences throughout the state. The dates and locations are as follows:
January 29, 2013 Smithfield Johnson County Extension Office
January 30, 2013 North Wilkesboro Edwin McGee Center
January 31, 2013 Canton WNC Regional Livestock Center
Dr. Chris Teustch, with the Virginia Tech Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center, will discuss “Building and Maintaining Soil Fertility in Times of High Fertilizer Costs” and “Building Year Round Grazing Systems”. Additionally, there will be a Grazing Experts Panel with local producers, a NCSU Extension Update and Tradeshow. Each conference will begin at 12:30 with registration and an opportunity to visit the trade show. The cost is $20 for members of the NCFGC, $30 for non-members, and $10 for students. There will be an evening social beginning at 6 pm.
