Agritourism conference planned for Williamston Jan. 17

The N.C. Agritourism Networking Association will host a conference titled, “Growth and Prosperity in the Next Season,” for farmers interested in learning more about the economic benefits of agritourism. The event includes speakers from regional agritourism farms, as well as economic-development specialists.

Scheduled speakers are Uli Bennewitz, Weeping Radish Brewery; Andre Nabors, N.C. Department of Commerce; Carol Shields, Roanoke River Partner; Dorita Boyd, Raindrop Ridge Farm; Ken Walker and Chris Mills, Ken’s Produce and Korny Korn Maze; Robin Freeman, A Chance in the Country; Bob Sykes, Turtle Mist Farm; Jack and Grace Bishop, Vineyards at Scuppernong; and John Wright, Sanctuary Vineyards.

Registration is $40 for NCANA members and potential members or $20 for Cooperative Extension staff. The deadline for registration is Jan. 15.
