In the front of my office there is a sign that reads, "This office belongs to the people of the Seventh Congressional District of North Carolina." This small sign bears a powerful message: that my job is to work to improve the lives of the people of Eastern North Carolina every single day. North Carolina has been my life-long home, and I am committed deeply to serving the people of our great district. I am honored and humbled to represent our area in the U.S. Congress, and that is why, in every decision I make, my first and last question is always, "What's best for the folks back home?"

As you may know, the General Assembly re-drew the congressional district lines last year—which are now in effect. As a result, the Seventh District has undergone many changes. I still represent all of Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, and Duplin Counties and parts of Cumberland, New Hanover, Pender and Robeson Counties. Additionally, I am pleased to welcome into this new district folks from Johnston County and those from parts of Hoke and Lenoir Counties as well. I have enjoyed meeting with the farmers, teachers, business owners, local officials and so many others from the new parts of our district, and I look forward to meeting even more of you personally in the near future as I travel extensively throughout the entire new district.

Constituent services has always been a top priority for me, and in order to best serve you and the people of our district, we have a dedicated and knowledgeable team in Washington and North Carolina who are able to provide a multitude of services. In addition to our Washington office, we have made some changes in our district office locations to better represent and reflect our new district. Just this month, we opened new district offices in Elizabethtown and Leland where my staff is always available to assist you. Additionally, our staff travels frequently throughout the district, and I am usually in two or three counties every weekend to meet personally with constituents.

Our experienced staff is also readily available to help constituents in trying to resolve problems on a variety of topics with federal government agencies. Whether you have an issue with the Social Security Administration, Veterans Administration, Internal Revenue Service or any other federal agency, we are here to help you navigate the federal government to ensure that you receive full and fair consideration in a timely manner.

We are also fortunate to have a legislative team to help look out for the interests of Eastern North Carolinians as the U.S. Congress considers numerous legislative initiatives. Supporting the needs of our veterans, military bases, farmers, small businesses, and schools are critical, and we continue to work to improve the communities which we call home. I encourage you to contact me any time about legislation and related topics which are important to you and your family. My staff and I are always available to talk with you in North Carolina or Washington to hear your ideas and concerns.

Please visit our website at www.house.gov/mcintyre where you may email me directly, get help with a federal agency, learn more about constituent services and legislative priorities, obtain information about our new offices, and find other information which may be useful. You may also stay in touch with our office by subscribing to the McIntyrE-newsletter for regular updates on the work we are doing to represent you, following us on Twitter, or “friending” us on Facebook.

I have always been committed to serving the people back home, and I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to represent the people of Eastern North Carolina in 113th Congress. Even as our great nation faces many challenges, I will continue to seek common-sense, bi-partisan solutions to bring people together from both sides of the aisle in order to defend our nation, help create jobs, protect Social Security and Medicare, help our small businesses, farmers, veterans, schools, and coastal communities. Please do not hesitate to contact my office to let us know how we can best serve you, the people of North Carolina’s Seventh Congressional District
