EDEN hosts agrosecurity symposium

An Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) program entitled Agrosecurity Symposium: Building National Networks and Partnerships wi ll be held in Washington, DC on April 22 - 23, 2013. The program is open for a wide array of stakeholders. Its objectives include
· translating federal agrosecurity initiatives to state and local levels
· conducting interdisciplinary, multijurisdictional discussions about agricultural emergency management and planning
· identifying future activities to advance agricultural disaster preparedness activities within communities
Additional information is available on the EDEN website and from Secretary Jeff Witte, New Mexico, who has long been involved with EDEN and other disaster preparedness activities. The is no fee to attend, but registration is required.
