The N.C. Pickle Festival has been named one of the Top 10 Attractions in North Carolina by AmericaTheBeautiful.com.

AmericaTheBeautiful.com identified the top 10 attractions in each US state, and the listings will be posted on its website throughout 2013.

“Our goal is to encourage travel across these United States by our residents and to encourage visitors from around the world to explore all that our country has to offer,” said Peter Smith, president of AmericaTheBeautiful.com, in his communication to the festival. “The event you host every year is a vital part of the amazing culture that we maintain here in America and we are proud of all that you do.”

The N.C. Pickle Festival, in its 27th year, is set for April 26-27 in downtown Mount Olive. Thousands turn out to enjoy a wide range of activities, including three stages of entertainment, car, antique tractor and motorcycle shows, carnival rides and children’s activities, plus exhibits, food, arts and crafts, and, of course, Mt. Olive pickles. This year’s festival highlights include a naturalization ceremony welcoming new American citizens, Lizard Lick Towing’s Big Juicy, and the return of the one-ring Circus Stella.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Top 10 event here in North Carolina,” said Julie Beck, now in her 19th year as festival chairman. “Ours is truly a community celebration, and our volunteers are the ones who really make this happen. It’s an honor for all of us.”

The award-winning North Carolina Pickle Festival, presented by the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, is held in downtown Mount Olive on the last full weekend in April each year. For complete details and latest news, visit the website at www.ncpicklefest.org.
