The American Meat Institute is joining a group of 36 trade organizations and agencies fighting a federal court rejection of a challenge to partial waivers over the use of gasoline containing 15 percent ethanol in passenger cars and light tucks.

The AMI and the other groups are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review a decision by a federal appellate court not to reconsider a decision by a lower court to deny a challenge of the Environmental Protection Agency’s approval of the use of gasoline blends known as E15. The trade organizations are also supporting congressional legislation overturning the waivers and limiting future EPA waivers to gasoline containing only 10 percent ethanol.
