Registration is now open for two favorite N.C. Pickle Festival events: the Cuke Patch 5K run through downtown Mount Olive, and the Tour de Pickle bike ride that leads riders through miles of scenic areas of Wayne, Sampson and Duplin counties.

Both events occur on Saturday morning, April 27, which is also the main day of the N.C. Pickle Festival. The timing of the Tour de Pickle has been adjusted a little later in the morning to make it easier to participate in both the 5K and the bike ride.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. at Mount Olive College’s Kornegay Arena for the 5K, and the race starts at 8 a.m. This year’s event will be timed by Run the East.

Registration for the Tour de Pickle opens at 8 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Pickle Distribution Center, and the 75-mile riders leave at 9:30 a.m., with the 50- and 25-mile riders leaving at five minute intervals. The early bird registration for both events is April 15. Register and pay online at www.runtheeast.com or download registration forms at www.ncpicklefest.org. Complete race and ride information is available at www.ncpicklefest.org.

The award-winning North Carolina Pickle Festival, presented by the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, draws tens of thousands to downtown Mount Olive on the last full weekend in April each year.
