Russian poultry giant set for expansion

The Russian Agricultural Bank has agreed to loan US$350 million to Poultry Akashevskaya to expand its facility in the Mari El Republic.

The project, which is scheduled to begin in late 2013, will consist of a new meat processing plant and 16 poultry houses to grow broilers. It is expected to more than double its current capacity to 180,000 tons.

The bank has loaned more than committed credit facilities of more than US$500 million since the project began in 2005.
