Sustainable Local Food Advisory Council will meet April 11

The N.C. Sustainable Local Food Advisory Council will hold its quarterly meeting, which is open to the public.

Members will hear a summary of listening sessions the council held across the state earlier this year. The council also will receive updates on state legislation and the federal Food Safety Modernization Act.

The Sustainable Local Food Advisory Council was created by the General Assembly in 2009. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler serves as chairman of the 27-member group, which includes farmers, educators, food industry executives, state agency heads, community activists and local-food advocates.
