N.C. Natural Resources Conservation Service announces another funding opportunity for EQIP

North Carolina Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is accepting applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). EQIP helps producers implement conservation practices to conserve and enhance natural resources on privately owned lands and save energy.
Through EQIP, funds are currently available for confined animal operations, crop and pasturelands, lagoon closures, organic production and Longleaf Pine habitat. Funds are also available for eligible producers that are limited in resources and historically underserved.
All eligible applications received by the local NRCS field offices by close of business on May 17, 2013 will be considered for this funding opportunity.
All applicants will need to have an active Conservation Plan. A Conservation Plan is a voluntary plan that helps landowners develop a record of natural resource management decisions on their land. The plan connects Farm Bill technical and financial assistance, and additional partner resources to the identified natural resource management goals outlined in the plan.

NRCS is an agency of the United Stated Department of Agriculture. All programs administered by NRCS are authorized by the Farm Bill, are voluntary, and are available to all eligible landowners.
