It is with much sadness to inform you that Mr. J.C. Whitehurst passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 17th. Mr. Whitehurst had surgery on Thursday, April 4 and had complications with other health issues following recovery from the surgery. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Whitehurst was a warrior and a fighter! He fought the good fight over the last 18 months with various health issues. Mr. Whitehurst set an example of mental toughness on how to deal with adversity concerning health issues.
Our founder was an extraordinary man of faith who loved his family and his profession including all aspects of agriculture. He loved sports having a highly competitive nature. Mr. Whitehurst made a difference in the lives of so many people. He was a pioneer in the industry of agriculture reaching across the entire nation. Mr. Whitehurst was a great man of highest integrity and respect. He will be missed by Coastal and the many people whose lives he touched.
