N.C. Plant Conservation Board to meet Wednesday at 1 p.m. by conference call

The N.C. Plant Conservation Board will meet by conference call at 1 p.m. this Wednesday
to review and prioritize a list of site acquisitions that will be submitted as part of the Natural Heritage Trust Fund grant application cycle. The Board will also be updated on general Plant Conservation Program activities.

The N.C. Plant Conservation Program develops regulations, voluntary programs and cooperative partnerships to help protect imperiled species and their habitats. The program’s responsibilities include the listing of North Carolina's endangered and threatened plant species and the development of conservation programs designed to permanently protect them. The program uses a host of methods and procedures to perpetuate native plants and their ecosystems, including the acquisition and management of important plant sites and habitats.
