Applications for NC Value-Added Cost Share program grants being accepted

Cost-share assistance, with funding from the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, is available through a competitive application process to help developing value-added agricultural businesses purchase specialized equipment.

Applications and guidelines are now available at www.ncvacs.org. Applications are due by August 1, 2013. Award recipients will be notified by September 15, 2013 and will have until December 1, 2013 to request reimbursement for approved equipment purchases. Funding may be used to purchase either new or used equipment. Awards will neither exceed 50% of the project nor $75,000.

The North Carolina Value-Added Cost Share (NCVAS) program is administered by the NC Cooperative Extension.
