Dear Friends,
These last few weeks have been a very busy time in Washington. Over the last month, we have learned about the targeting of specific groups based on their political beliefs by the IRS and had the revelation of domestic surveillance programs being used by the NSA. Additionally, members of the House and Senate are working on legislation to reform the nation's immigration system and the Obama administration continues to implement the President's healthcare law before it goes into effect next year. All the while our nation's unemployment rate remains stubbornly high at 7.6% according to the most recent statistics.
As the issues continue to be debated both here in Washington and around kitchen tables in Western North Carolina, it is important that I hear your concerns. The decisions made by our nation’s leaders have great consequences in the real world, and I’d like your feedback so that I can stand up for you in Congress.
