A High Point furniture manufacturer, which just won a national award, is today displaying on Capitol Hill what it calls a “bipartisan sofa” to bring lawmakers together and promote American manufacturing. Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman, based in High Point, was in Washington this week to receive an award from a national organization that promotes home-grown manufacturing jobs. A company official met with U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) today to explain their efforts.

Gregg Arrington, Vice President of Operations for Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman, is hosting a display of the bipartisan sofa in the Rayburn House Office Building. The red, white and blue sofa was manufactured in High Point. Congressman Coble and Gregg Arrington sat on the sofa together in the Rayburn Foyer, just steps from Rep. Coble’s Capitol Hill office.

Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman was honored this week with “Best: Made in America” 2013 award from Made: in America, a Washington-based, not-for-profit organization that promotes American manufacturing. Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman was honored for its commitment to the production of fine, handcrafted furniture.
