The Piedmont Triad Farmers Market is adding a new event to its 2013 lineup of commodity days. The first-ever Blackberry and Blueberry Day will include free samples of blueberry ice cream and fresh N.C. blackberries. In addition, farmers will have a variety of berries available for purchase.

Shoppers will find a variety of seasonal produce at the market, including berries, peaches, green beans, tomatoes, corn, squash and watermelons. In addition, visitors can find specialty products in the Market Shoppes, garden supplies and accessories at the A.B. Seed Co., and sod grass for their homes at Super Sod. They also can enjoy a meal at the Moose Cafe Restaurant. The Piedmont Triad Farmers Market is one of four farmers markets managed by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
