Charlotte Regional Farmers Market offers free watermelon slices at Watermelon Day July 12

The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market is offering free slices of watermelon on Watermelon Day. In addition to samples of the summer favorite, the N.C. Watermelon Queen will be on hand to meet and greet visitors.

Shoppers will find a variety of seasonal produce at the market, including watermelons, peaches, tomatoes, peppers, squash and zucchini. Visitors also can find a large selection of plants and shrubs in the Greenery Shed.
The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market is one of four farmers markets managed by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The market is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 12:30 to 6 p.m.
