U.S. Rep. Holding: Fighting for a permanent delay of Obamacare
Story Date: 7/16/2013

Dear Friend,

As you may know, the administration recently announced its plan to delay the employer mandate under Obamacare until 2015. This decision shows that even the authors of this law are starting to see the negative effects of Obamacare implementation. This law is bad policy, and it was too quickly rushed into law without a clear picture of the consequences.

At a time when just 58.7% of working age Americans are employed, it is clear that small businesses simply cannot afford to comply with Obamacare. Business owners, in order to comply with new regulations and fees associated with Obamacare implementation, will be forced to make tough decisions like cutting wages and hours. Instead of burdening businesses, we should be creating an environment where they have the ability to grow and hire more employees.

American families do not deserve the burden of Obamacare. The individual mandate requires everyone to provide proof of health insurance or face an annual penalty. Often individuals will be without much choice of what provider to use and will see their premium go up. Hardworking Americans simply do not want or need more taxes and fees.

That is why this week, the House will be voting to delay the individual and the employer mandates of Obamacare. This is a step towards a permanent repeal of this catastrophic law.

Instead of forcing Obamacare on the American people, we should be doing things to foster growth in business and the economy, such as cutting burdensome regulations, reforming our tax code, and promoting a more transparent and less intrusive government.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding legislative or district matters, please do not hesitate to contact my offices.

Sincerely,

George Holding
