Governor Pat McCrory signed the following bill into law:
SB 638 (Sens. Jackson and Brock ) - NC Farm Act of 2013
; This bill provides clarity on the responsibilities of several key agencies to make sure farmers, farms and consumers are protected while at the same time freeing up the agriculture industry to become more efficient. The bill also protects animal owners and producers. It also addresses environmental concerns.
Sens. Brent Jackson and Andrew Brock and Reps. Jimmy Dixon, Chuck McGrady and Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler joined the governor for the signing.
