Hagan offers assistance with disaster recovery loans following severe floods in Chapel Hill area

U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) today urged North Carolinians affected by severe flooding that hit Chapel Hill and the surrounding areas on June 30th to contact her office if they need help with their disaster assistance loan through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

"I encourage any North Carolinians affected by these severe floods to contact my office if they need assistance with the Small Business Administration's disaster recovery loan program," said Hagan. "I have seen the resilience of our state’s communities firsthand, and I stand ready to assist North Carolinians affected by the floods as they begin to rebuild their homes, businesses and communities."

North Carolinians should call Hagan's office toll-free at 1-877-852-9462 for assistance with their claim. Eligible counties for SBA disaster assistance loans are: Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Orange and Person.

The Small Business Administration will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center on Friday at the University Mall North Carolina, located at 201 South Estes Drive, Suite A10 in Chapel Hill. The center will be open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, July 19; 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, July 20 and 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday, July 22, through Thursday, July 25.

SBA provides low interest loans to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and to private, nonprofit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery & equipment, inventory and business assets damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.
