Released from a Washington, D.C., hospital this morning following surgery earlier this week, U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) was back on the House floor voting today. Congressman Coble underwent hernia surgery on Tuesday at George Washington University Hospital after he complained of severe stomach pains.

Rep. Coble’s Chief of Staff Ed McDonald said that doctors discharged the 82-year-old legislator early Thursday morning. Congressman Coble will ride back to North Carolina with a staffer who drives home every other weekend.

The House is not in session either tomorrow or next Monday. Rep. Coble expects to return to Capitol Hill next Tuesday for the last week of the House before the August district work period.
