Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC-02) released the following statement after voting this morning on the continuing resolution to defund Obamacare and keep the government funded:

"This morning, I joined my conservative colleagues in the House to defund Obamacare and pass a bill that will keep the government running. We are now only days away from the implementation of Obamacare and I will continue to do whatever I can to get rid of this terrible law and protect all Americans from the economic disasters looming on the horizon."

"As Majority Leader Cantor mentioned at this morning's press conference following the vote, my constituent - Mac McLamb of Dunn North Carolina - is being forced to cut hours for workers at his local grocery chain, Carlie C's. The effects of Obamacare are destroying businesses and lives before it has even been enacted and I will not rest until the law has been fully repealed."

"Today's vote will keep the government running and funded and includes an important provision to repeal and defund Obamacare. It's now up to the Senate to act. This is only the beginning as we continue to fight for all Americans and prevent the danger lurking on our doorstep with the implementation of Obamacare set to take effect on October 1st."
