The full report is available here. There were 6.0 days suitable for field work for the week ending September 29th same as for last week ending September 22nd. Statewide soil moisture levels were rated at 1% very short, 31% short, 63% adequate and 5% surplus. The state received little precipitation this week along with average temperatures remaining slightly below normal. Sweet potato harvest moved in-line with the last year average and the 5-year average this week. Corn and tobacco harvest remain in line as well. Peanut harvest is now underway and should continue to progress well this week if the weather remains dry. Small grain plantings are also beginning in earnest and were aided by the dry conditions this week.
