Apple Day set for Thursday at State Farmers Market

The State Farmers Market will host Apple Day in celebration of the state’s apple industry. North Carolina is the seventh-largest apple producer in the nation. Visitors can enjoy free apple dessert samples prepared by the State Farmers Market Restaurant. There also will be a variety of fresh N.C. apples available for purchase from market vendors.


Apple Day is sponsored by the N.C. Apple Growers Association, State Farmers Market Restaurant, State Farmers Market and N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Thursday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Event area located between the N.C. Seafood Restaurant and the garden section of the Farmers Building.

Open year-round, the State Farmers Market offers fresh seasonal produce, seafood, meats, cheeses and specialty food products. In addition, visitors can find a variety of gift ideas for holidays and special occasions. The market is a one-stop source for Halloween and fall decorations, including pumpkins, fall plants, garden flags and door displays.
