U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre, the #2 Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee, has been named to the conference committee that will determine the final Farm Bill.

Congressman McIntyre stated, “Agriculture is a mainstay of the North Carolina economy, and I am honored to be appointed to this important conference committee.  Helping to grow North Carolina’s economy, enhance our rural communities and open markets for our farmers and North Carolina products will be my priority.  It is critical that our farmers have polices that they can plan on, depend on, and that work for the crops we grow and produce.  We need a Farm Bill that does that, and I will continue to do all I can to help get a Farm Bill signed into law for North Carolina farmers and agri-businesses.”

Both the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate have passed respective Farm Bills and the conference committee will resolve the differences between the two bills and present one bill for both chambers to vote on.
