The annual Turfgrass Field Day, held Aug. 14 at the Turfgrass Field Laboratory within the Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory, drew more than 800 people, the largest crowd in the history of the event. The field day featured a range of presentations on the care and feeding of turf, including turfgrass breeding and irrigation. There was even a presentation on research that focuses on the paint used on athletic fields, as in the picture above of faculty, staff and students involved in the event. Dr. Rick Brandenburg, William Neal Reynolds Professor of Entomology, and Emily Erickson, lecturer in crop science, chaired the field day planning committee, while Erickson and Jenifer Jordan Reynolds, web application developer in crop science, served as event coordinators.
