The board of trustees with the N.C. Clean Water Management Trust Fund will meet in Raleigh Nov. 12 for the first time since state legislation moved the trust fund into the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources and merged it with the state’s Natural Heritage Trust Fund.

The meeting is from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 12 in Room 1210 of the Environment and Natural Resources Building, 217 West Jones St., Raleigh.

Since their last meeting, the North Carolina General Assembly and Governor Pat McCrory have made some important changes to the Clean Water Management Trust Fund through the passage of the 2013-14 budget. The trust funds help finance the state’s significant natural resources needs, including land conservation and protection of surface water quality.

Much of the board’s agenda Tuesday is focused on introducing new board members to their roles and responsibilities. Staff will also discuss the mission of the Clean Water Management Trust Fund program and present an overview of the grant application, review and management process. Anticipated business items include a budget review and potential action on requests to make minor modifications to five existing grant contracts.

The agenda for the Nov. 12 meeting is on the Clean Water Management Trust Fund’s website at: http://www.cwmtf.net/Docs/CWMTF_Nov_2013_Agenda.pdf.
