U.S. poultry exports through the third quarter of 2013 continued a record pace, growing marginally in quantity and value over the same period a year earlier, according to trade data released by the Foreign Agriculture Service and complied by the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council.

Total poultry exports for the January-through-September period were 3.077 million metric tons valued at $4.152, up 1 percent and 3 percent, respectively, year on year, particularly anchored by record cumulative broiler meat exports.

U.S. broiler meat exports (excluding paws) in September dipped by 1 percent to 276,135 tons, while value inched up by less than 1 percent to $354.5 million, compared with September 2012 figures.

Cumulative broiler meat exports (excluding paws) through September reached 2.5 million tons, up 2 percent, valued at $3.21 billion, up 4 percent. Both export volume and value set year-on-year records, USAPEEC said.
