The House passed three bills this week that provide opportunities to increase domestic energy production and create jobs.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.1965, the Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act, by a vote of 228-192. This bill would establish an efficient process to responsibly produce both renewable and conventional energy in the United States by reducing red-tape and government regulations.

On Thursday, November 21, 2013, the House passed H.R. 1900, the Natural Gas Pipeline Permitting Reform Act, by a vote of 252-165. This act amends the Natural Gas Act to provide timely consideration of all licenses, permits, and approvals required for the construction, expansion, or operation of any natural gas pipeline projects. The new infrastructure outlined will expedite the process of moving natural gas from areas of production to areas of high demand.

The House also passed H.R. 2778, the Protecting States' Rights to Promote American Energy Security Act by a vote of 235-187.  This bill helps reduce bureaucratic red-tape by limiting the Administration's ability to impose duplicative and burdensome federal regulations on hydraulic fracturing.
