2014 AEWR projections

The adverse effect wage rate for H-2A continues to escalate for farmers across the United States.  While not official, click here to the projected AEWR for 2014.  The good news (if you can call it that) is that the NC/VA (Appalachian 1) wage rate rose less than other parts of the country....19 cents...to $9.87.  Some farmers in other parts of the country will be facing a $1 plus wage rate increase.  The Northern Plains (KS, NE, ND, SD) has the most expensive AEWR of $13.41  Appalachian 1 (NC/VA) and Delta (VA/LA/MS) tied for the lowest AEWR at $9.87.
