WEATHER SUMMARY
The state received below normal precipitation and temperatures during the month of November. Farmers spent much of their time harvesting cotton, soybeans and sweet potatoes and planting small grains. As of November 24, statewide soil moisture was rated at 2% very short, 35% short, 61% adequate and 2% surplus.



Cotton production on December 1, 2013 is estimated at 820,000 480-pound bales, down 33% from the 1,255,000 480-pound bales produced in 2012.


NOVEMBER PRELIMINARY PRICES RECEIVED
• Corn $4.60 per bushel• Cotton $0.768 per pound• Peanuts $0.261 per pound
• Soybeans $12.90 per bushel
• Winter Wheat $6.00 per bushel


CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on November 1, 2013 totaled 233,947,000. The total was up 7% from the November 1, 2012 total of 217,841,000 eggs. The total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators on November 1, 2013 decreased 3% from 4,786,000 eggs in 2012 to 4,636,000 in 2013.
