Next week, House Republicans will hold an open session during their annual retreat to discuss their legislative approach to immigration reform. House leadership has stated the session is intended to be an open and exhaustive forum to allow all members to put forward any concerns or suggestions before the GOP executes its step-by-step legislative approach to immigration reform.

Immediately preceding the House Republican retreat, House leadership is expected to release a framework document outlining the GOP principals within its immigration reform initiative. Some of these principals will likely include granting more authority to states and local governments to enforce immigration laws. In the interim, the Administration is requesting allies and advocates mitigate partisan rhetoric surrounding immigration issues until the House has put forward their legislative proposals.
