The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is inviting applications for the “ICAC Researcher of the Year 2014." The closing date for receipt of applications is March 31, 2014. The ICAC recognition of a researcher at the international level has become a prestigious ward since its introduction in 2009. All information about the program is available at https://www.icac.org/tech/ICAC-Researcher-of-the-Year-Award.

The criterion for recognition of a researcher is the research work done so far, preferably that which benefits the farming community and advances research in any field of production research including fiber quality and processing of cotton. A team of judges outside the ICAC Secretariat handles the evaluation process. The judges are anonymous to the ICAC and change every two years. Applications go directly to the panel of judges. Researchers from universities and public sector research organizations from ICAC member government countries are eligible to apply for the award.

Applications should only be sent to the following address: nominations2014@icac.org

As a token of appreciation, the winner will receive a shield, an honorarium of US$1,000, a certificate, and the title “ICAC Researcher of the Year 2014." The winner will be invited to make a presentation on his vision for cotton research at the 73rd Plenary Meeting of the ICAC, to be held in Greece from November 2-7, 2014.
