AgCarolina Farm Credit announces board of directors election results

Members of AgCarolina Farm Credit elected two incumbent directors to the cooperative’s board of directors.  B. Derek Potter of Grantsboro and Audie M. Murphy of Stantonsburg were re-elected to serve a four-year term.    


Potter represents the counties of Beaufort, Dare, Tyrrell, Hyde, Pamlico and Washington and has served as a director since 2009.   He is the owner and operator of B.D. Potter Farms, Inc., growing primarily corn, wheat, and soybeans.    


Murphy has served as a director since 2006 and represents the counties of Greene, Wilson, and Wayne.   He, along with his cousin, Tommy Murphy, operate  Lucky Four Farms, Inc. and he is also a partner in Greene Gin & Cotton Company.   Murphy was elected by the board to serve as Chairman for 2014.  
Murphy and Potter are two of 10 farmers who serve on the board of directors of the Raleigh based lending cooperative.
