Comment period on DEIS for herbicide resistant corn and soybeans open until March, 11, 2014

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
(APHIS) is announcing today that the comment period on the draft environmental impact
statement (DEIS) that evaluates the potential environmental impacts of one corn and two
soybean varieties genetically engineered by Dow AgroSciences, LLC, to be resistant to the
herbicide known as 2,4-D, and several other herbicides, will remain open through March 11,
2014. This opportunity is being provided in response to stakeholder requests to provide
additional time for comments.


APHIS will consider all public comments received on or before March 11, 2014. Notice of this
comment period closing date will be published in the Federal Register in the near future.
