Duke promises to meet state’s coal ash deadline

Duke Energy says it will meet the state’s March 15 deadline to provide extensive information on what it plans to do about its coal ash plants. Duke CEO Lynn Good, in a written response to Gov. Pat McCrory’s Feb. 25 letter, said the utility is evaluating what the Dan River spill means for all 14 of its sites that store coal ash.
