Duke Energy Progress has chosen a 257-acre tract of land in Lumberton for its 2014 Site Readiness Program.
The program is designed to help communities served by Duke Energy prepare the property for potential industrial development, which can bring jobs to the area, said Lisa Parrish, spokeswoman for the utility.
