Charlotte Regional Farmers Market celebrates Strawberry Day May 9

Strawberry season is in full swing across North Carolina, and farmers will be celebrating with Strawberry Day at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market.


Visitors can enjoy free samples of strawberries and strawberry ice cream. Suzy Strawberry, the strawberry mascot, will also be passing out recipes and nutritional information to guests. In addition, there will be plenty of fresh, local strawberries available for purchase.

Open year-round, the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market offers fresh seasonal produce, seafood, meats, cheeses and specialty food products. On Saturdays, visitors can find a variety of gift ideas for holidays and special occasions in the Craft Barn.


Local farmers are currently offering fresh produce, including strawberries, greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, sweet potatoes and greens. There is also a large selection of gardening plants and shrubs for spring planting, as well as cut flowers just in time for Mother’s Day.
