Our Marketing Division has been hard at work over the past few weeks coordinating some exciting events in July to feature North Carolina agriculture during Got To Be NC Agriculture Month. Events include peach and watermelon days at our farmers markets in Asheville, Charlotte, Colfax and Raleigh. Check your local farmers market website for more details. Marketing specialists will also be teaming up with commodity groups to offer cooking demonstrations in grocery stores around the state.

In addition, NCDA&CS will be teaming up with North Carolina restaurants to host the first-ever "Dig Into Local Restaurant Week", a 10-day event that is designed to showcase restaurants that feature North Carolina products on their menu. "Instead of fixed-price menus, you will enjoy 'fixed-source’ menus where each item is tied to a North Carolina product or ingredient," said Troxler. "Also, this restaurant week is extended over 10 days to include both weekends to give folks more time to experience these special dishes.”

There will be many more events to come in the month of July to honor Got To Be NC Agriculture Month, so stay tuned.
