To: Our International Partners and Stakeholders
Last June, I wrote to inform you of important changes to the organizational structure of international activities within the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The new streamlined organizational structure is working very well and has effectively advanced our public health mission. Today, I am pleased to inform you that FSIS has appointed Jane Doherty to serve as FSIS' International Coordination Executive. Ms. Doherty will serve as the overarching point of contact for all international matters including audits, equivalence, import and export coordination, inspections and strategic planning here at FSIS.

Many of you may know Ms. Doherty from her previous position as the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Director at the Office ofthe U.S. Trade Representative. She has an extensive background in international relations, food safety and public health and previously served as senior counsel for international relations at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Ms. Doherty will function as the Agency's primary point of contact for all international matters. I invite you to reach out to her whenever you have a question about our international activities. She can be reached at (202) 708¬8769 or jane.doherty@fsis.usda.gov.

Thank you for our continued partnership .
