AgCarolina Farm Credit awards college scholarships

AgCarolina Farm Credit, eastern North Carolina’s largest agricultural lending cooperative, recently awarded a total of $23,250 in college scholarships.   The scholarship program is one component of the cooperative lender’s Corporate Giving Program.

 
Recipients of the $1,000 At-Large Scholarship are: Courtney Davis of Wilson (daughter of Tim and Terry Davis); Nathaniel Harris of Elizabeth City (son of Stephen and Robin Harris); Franklin Scott of Lucama (son of Joey and Tricia Scott); Ashlynn Spell of Princeton (daughter of Harris and Melissa Spell); and Cullen Williford of Wilson (son of Dan Williford and Denise Rachou).


Five FFA scholarships of $500 each were awarded to:  Hunter Nicole Brown (Wake Forest High School FFA); Noah Stephen Evans ((Chowan High School FFA); Grace Manzer (Northeastern High School FFA); John McCormick (Southside High School FFA); and Jordan Pace (Corinth Holders High School FFA).  


In addition to the above scholarships, five $2,000 scholarships to North Carolina State University for students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the ag curriculum will be awarded.   Also, five $750 scholarships to the NCSU Ag Institute will be awarded.  Selection for the NCSU scholarships will be made by the NCSU Scholarship Committee.   Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the ag curriculum at North Carolina A&T State University.  Student selection for the scholarships at A&T will be made by the university.  


Recipients of the NCSU scholarships and the At-Large scholarships must be children or grandchildren of an AgCarolina Farm Credit customer.
