First Equine Deaths Due to EEE Recorded

North Carolina’s State Veterinary Office has reported the summer’s first equine deaths due to Eastern Equine Encephalomyelitis, or EEE, in Carteret County. Dr. Tom Ray, State Director of Livestock Health Programs: “It’s a viral disease that is transmitted by mosquitos.
